Return logistics
In the backroom stores in supermarkets, activity is hectic! Return flows include, for example, Euro Pool System-trays, rollies, dollies, cardboard, plastic, pallets, furniture and unsold products. Euro Pool System can bundle, sort, and transport the return flows. The load factor in return logistics can easily increase from 35%, which is nowadays very common in practice, to 70%. Apart from saving transport costs, this system is more sustainable. Euro Pool System is responsible for the return logistics of several retailers in Spain.

Integrated service centre
For a number of European retailers, Euro Pool System has shifted its activities to the retailer’s distribution centre, where return flows converge. In this manner, an integrated service centre is created. Euro Pool System sorts and transports the return flows, and the trays are washed and put into circulation once again. After delivering their fresh products, suppliers can then automatically take clean trays with them. This procedure enables them to save hundreds of transport kilometres between service and distribution centres.

Automatic order picking
Retailers who have their fresh products packed in standard packages can easily go one step further to automatic order picking. This means a saving of tens of percentage points, in handling costs, rotation time, and error reduction. Since 2010, Euro Pool System has rented automatic order pick installations to its clients, wherever there is intensive, long-term collaboration.

Custom-made trays
No two retailers are the same – nobody knows this better than we do. This is why Euro Pool System listens to the individual wishes and requirements of its partners and customers. In close co-operation, we can develop new custom-made products, such as trays for specific products or purposes.

Insight into logistic flows
With the Euro Pool System’s E-Web application, every retailer can have insight as to the whereabouts of the trays at any stage in the supply chain. Using the website, each user fills in the number and type of trays (empty or full) which he sends to his clients. Likewise, the recipient can then fill-in in the moment of arrival of the trays. Having done this, users can follow up the shipment online, and the retailer can generate different statements and always know how many trays are being used.
