We are looking for an:

INTERN

For Counting and Identification (32-40 hrs/week)
Location: Rijswijk, the Netherlands

Current situation

Currently “Next Generation” counting installations are installed in four of our depots. In these Depots the counting installation manages automatic C&I. The accuracy of the installation is tested to see if it meets the required accuracy. However, the accuracy may slightly differ over time, per flow, and per location. This effect is unknown to us, because we do not monitor it. Consequently, coping with this variation leads to complains by Customer Service (which is responsible for the recheck and corrections).

Project benefits

Having an accuracy overview of the C&I systems (ICON), which leads to better cost control. Furthermore, to get advice on how the different flows/installations/processes can be optimized for better accuracy.

Project objective

The main objective of this project is to get an overview of accuracy of the portals, develop a method for the Region that can be used the ensure the accuracy is met and develop the right set-up for the FAT. This will give us insight in the differences per portal, different inputs and the effect of update on the C&I system. In addition, qualitative analysis should provide insights into the counting errors.

Project Deliverables

  • Weekly accuracy reporting (with confidence interval).
  • Accuracy analysis, per depot, per week, before and after updates.
  • Qualitative analysis on the perceived performance.
  • Qualitative analysis on the type of counting errors.

Expected Outcomes and impact for business

The project aims to develop a new accuracy method that can be used in the regions. In additional a set-up for future FAT tests will be developed. In addition, a more a detailed view on the accuracy and the effect of external effects will be made. This will benefit EPS in a way that it can better estimate the additional workload and convince the customers to switch to automatic C&I. This will focus on the portals placed in Magdeburg, Dortmund, Barendrecht, Zellik and Madrid.

Knowledge/skills:

  • Knowledge and affinity for logistics, business processes and calculations.
  • Knowledge of Excel and preferably other reporting tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the language in which country the function resides. Preferable also a third language.

Competences:
